Reviewers and The Review Process

Paper Review Process

All papers presented at HWRS2012 have been blind peer reviewed through a formal and rigorous process, as outlined below. In response to the Call for Papers inviting Abstracts sent out in 2011, the Organising Committee received 330 abstracts of proposed papers. Members of the Organising Committee assigned reviewers from the Scientific Committee and other Technical Reviewers throughout the world to evaluate all of the papers with regard to their suitability for the Symposium. The authors of 320 abstracts were invited to prepare a full paper for presentation at the conference. 300 papers were offered a platform presentation and 20 authors were offered a poster presentation for their paper.

The Panel of Reviewers consisted of the Scientific Committee and other international and national experts in fields relevant to the Conference sub-themes. The Panel reviewed 206 full papers submitted for publication in the Conference Proceedings. All papers submitted for platform or poster presentation were blind peer reviewed by at least two independent reviewers according to a set of criteria established by the independent Scientific Committee. Reviewers were asked to assess the paper against these criteria and provide comments on the paper for both the author and the Organising Committee. Authors were then requested to revise their manuscript in accordance with reviewers' comments and to submit for final review before inclusion in the Proceedings.

The final proceedings were edited by Dr Seth Westra.
